Rules and regulations

- Our service engineers are certified according to IMO Resolution MSC.402(96) for all major makes and types.
- All annual and 5-year service is carried out according to IMO Resolution MSC.402(96), as required by SOLAS III/20.

Flag Approvals
Marinspect Safety & Rigging AB is approved for lifeboat service and inspections according to SOLAS III/20 and IMO Resolution MSC.402(96) by almost every flag state.
LSA Manufacturer Certifications
The Service Engineers of Marinspect Safety & Rigging AB are certified according to IMO MSC.1/Circ.1277 for lifeboat service and inspections for all the major manufacturers.

Crane inspection

Different kinds of crane inspections
Crane inspections are mainly divided into two categories. They are:
- Initial inspection. A new or altered crane shall always be inspected to ensure all parts are functional prior to use. An initial inspection assures that modified, reinstalled or repaired components have been installed properly and functionally tested.
- Frequent inspection. A visual and operational inspection. Its frequency depends on the crane’s exposure to wear, deterioration, or malfunction as well as the nature of the critical components of the crane. All operational mechanisms are checked and our engineer pay close attention to wire ropes, hoist brakes, load chains, and listens carefully for any abnormal sounds.

Water Based Testing Bags & Weights
With capacities of 5, 12 and 35 tons each to a total load of 57 tons. In our stock we also have enough lifeboat water bags of 375 kg each for load testing 150 person lifeboats, platforms, bridges, gangways, accommodation ladders and other structural constructions.
Tougher needs?
On short notice we can arrange load tests up to 600 (six hundred) tons together with WWS. Higher loads are indeed possible, but will require some preparation.
Load monitoring
The exact proof load is measured either by certified load cells (dynamometers) or certified water flowmeters. From stock we can offer load cells with remote displays of 5, 12, 35 and 70 tons capacity including necessary rigging equipment, and of course a number of 2” water flow meters.
